El Capitan Patcher

Dosdude1 Patcher El Capitan. Oct 05, 2019 Let's say I want to install Catalina on an old iMac 7,1 (with SSE 4.1 support) to which dosdude1's APFS ROM Patcher has been previously applied. The iMac is currently running El Capitan, but I want to completely erase its disk and reformat it as APFS. Now it runs pretty smoothly and performance is comparable to El Capitan. I used the dosdude method and patcher, just make sure you back up the HD before you go ahead. My spec: Mid 2009 MacBook Pro 13' Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.26GHz. 4GB DDR3 @1,066MHz. Adobe CC is updating to a new '2019' set, and it will not support El Cap anymore.
Before I move CC over to my spare 2012 Mac Mini or my Win 10 box, I did some searching and found that someone had created a patcher that allowed for High Sierra to install and run on a 2008 3,1:

I'm going to give it a shot at some point soon, since I'd like to get some more service out of this old puppy... at least until Apple decides to make a new Mac Pro I can live with, etc.
Has anyone here done this? I'm specifically interested in how it actually performs vs. a supported OS like El Cap.
I have an SSD for my boot drive, and 32gigs RAM, so pretty much anything I throw at it fro my work is not a problem, aside from some point-heavy Illustrator stuff.
Thanks!
